'Twas the Night Before Oils
‘Twas the night before oils, when all through the house
Every creature was stirring, from the kids to the mouse.
With cookies to bake and presents to wrap,
Mom begged everyone to take a long winter’s nap.
“Please go to sleep!” {cried the Mom to her son}
“I can’t, ’cause I’m stuffy & my nose is just done.”
“Here you go,” {said the Mom} “Go ahead, try some Breathe!”
“OK, but I am sleeping with the roller up my sleeve.” {True Story}

One of my favorites, although he's 4 now!
One down, two to go {the Mom told herself}
While the Toddler jumped on the bed in the PJ’s of an elf.
He cries when he sees his own “yoy-ols” each night,
A little Peace blend on his neck, and he loses the fight! {Zzzzzz}
And then, there’s the tween, all snug in her bed,
With visions of Snapchat and Instagram in her head.
She babysits, bakes, and then wraps half the night,
So the Mom applies Balance for a grounding she actually likes!

Our town's annual Light Up Night!
The Dad is hard at work, and he stays in high gear,
For the deals that must close by the end of the year,
In the mornings, he feels all his energy is spent,
So the Mom makes a mocha with a dash of Peppermint!
And last, but not least, we look to the Mom,
Who is there to be sure All is Bright, All is Calm,
With the squabbles, the messes, the volumes on ten,
One drop of Melissa and Mom is so zen. {Ahhhhh!}

My grandmother painted this Nativity for me, and it's one of my most prized possessions!
Now, the cookies have Lemon, the tree has Siberian Fir,
The baby Jesus awaits His gold, Frankincense, and Myrrh.
The Mom’s biggest wish is not presents or toys,
But a Merry Christmas to all, and to all Holiday Joy!
